7 Reasons Why I Love Investing In Real Estate:
Tangible asset
I love investing in real estate because it is something I can see and grow myself. I have more control over how our properties do than I have control over the stock market. When the stock markets take a dip or crash, there is not much I can do about it. However, with a cash-flowing property, I can weather the slower seasons and the real estate market dips.
2. Makes money three ways
It is one of the best ways to create wealth because it makes you money in three ways. One is cashflow, money that is going into your pocket every month. Two is appreciation, most real estate markets appreciate over the years. Yes, it is a gamble, sometimes they crash however, ask yourself, how much did your parents buy their properties 30 years ago? And how much would they sell that today? Third is tax savings. There are multiple ways to save on taxes using real estate: through short term rental bonus depreciation with material participation, 1031 exchanges, real estate professional status, paper depreciation of the property itself to shelter the cash flow, deductions from large rehabs and maintenance, etc.
3. I get to express my creativity
It is fun to walk into a property and create a vision for it. I start seeing the property in a
new light and invest in uplifting and working to its fullest potential. I get creative in
funding deals, designing and furnishing the properties, and creating different ways for
the property to give us maximum cashflow.
4. Providing safe housing
I take pride in providing safe and wonderful housing to our guests and tenants. I am
proud to provide a comfortable space for individuals and families needing temporary
housing.
5. Contributing to other people’s livelihoods
Another thing I am proud of is supporting local, mostly family-owned businesses.
These are the cleaners, landscapers, contractors, handymen, etc. I get to contribute
to our local economy.
6. Generational wealth
Because real estate tends to appreciate and is something tangible, it creates
generational wealth. It is a gift that truly keeps on giving.
7. Versatility
With real estate, you can do long- term rentals, mid-term rentals, and short-
term rentals. With the right systems in place, you can easily shift between these
strategies to better suit the seasons.
